Martine Kraft is an acclaimed Norwegian artist. She combines her traditional nordic sounds with raw power and haunting, dreamlike soundscapes. This is a brand new folkrock sound!
As well as being a virtuoso on the hardingfiddle, Martine is a talented composer with a unique voice.
MartÃnes music has through the years appealed to all ages and to every continent of the world. Her spellbinding melodies and enchanting sound has become her trademark in both her live appearances and in her releases, where she combines expressions from all over the world. Through her instruments and mysterious voice MartÃne has a unique ability to create deep emotions in the communication with her listeners. Her music has been described as a fusion of nordic-, celtic-, balkan- and american-folkmusic with a classical touch; - a nordic worldmusic /symphonic folk.
MartÃne delivers highly appreciated pieces to both pictures and theaters. She has been performing her own compositions internationally, for more than fifteen years. Her main instrument is the Norwegian hardangerfiddle which she treats with virtuos care. However, the keyed harp and different kinds of flutes are also the source of several melodies. These instruments contribute and add character to her songs, as her talent expresses itself in various ways. MartÃne also works as a studio-musician and is hired by different studios.
